“Yoga” signifies the union of the mind and body. As we continued our own yoga practices. we found that we able to calm ourselves and discover the the peace within as we were effectively combating stress. As yoga practitioners and educators for children, we were able to mark our own little presence in this busy world.
Children are yoga. They start learning right from their inception in the mother’s womb, and the process only accelerates as he grows. As they develop, children, similar to grown-ups, experience stress. Peer pressure, exam stress, fights with friends and siblings, school-related stress, physical injuries and the list is endless. Poses and games, combined with mindfulness, relaxation and meditation enable children to fortify and strengthen themselves and become aware of the mind-body connection in a non-competitive, fun way. Yoga zoo firmly believes that, children’s yoga, with every one of its segments, is a toolbox that aids an individual to deal with a world that often feels so burdensome.
We believe that exposing a child to the tenets of Yoga, in the manner that we intend to, would help the child perceive their surroundings with a bit more depth. They would discover themselves. As they read, play, imagine, investigate, express, and breathe they can appreciate themselves for who they are, however they are, and in this big world, they fit in just fine.”
